Can't disagree with a thing you said.

The point isn't how fast you can turn around bball versus football, the keys to success are still the same. You have to have a staff that believes you can do it.

SMU has a lot to sell and with the right coach in place we can do it, whether it is an old established coach like Larry Brown or a young up and comer like Ron Meyer.

Absolutely. And to ojai's point, if GG is this staff's version of a pied piper, we need a new staff. No offense to Gilbert, but he was a cast-off that was seen as a bust when we got him.

As I have said before, SMU needs to somehow make SMU football Dallas' team and appeal to the masses, not just the hoity-toity crowd. In other words, not just a place for SMUers to hobnob on the boulevard. Standing room only crowds, television, big-time regional and national games, updated uniforms, family oriented not just a bunch of drunk students. A beautiful university in a wonderful setting in one of the great cities in the world for entertainment. On-Campus life needs a huge upgrade for athletes. Living off campus after first year in an apartment just doesn't cut it. Get the kids to stay on campus in top notch dorms for at least their first three years.

Also, break ground on the IPF tomorrow. Every day we don't have one in the works is a disadvantage on the recruiting trail

Glad we didn't have one this summer. Our guys needed to be practicing in the heat given that it will be close to 100 degrees at game time on Friday.
