jersey guy here, so here is my suggestions and information
from DFW look into

http://www.supershuttle.com/Locations/D ... allas.aspx

the dart does not call the DFW airport.

The dart train to the game is safe. much safer that a NY subway to Yankee Stadium

walk a 1/2 mile or take a free shuttle bus from Mockingbird Station to SMU campus.
you'll see people in football game shirts and such. just follow them.

once on campus go to tent number 4 on this map for beer and food
http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/smu ... dayMap.pdf

SMU fans are very nice. you won't find any [deleted] while you where your Rutgers shirts.

very close to campus is a Mexican restaurant another poster mentioned called Banditos
http://www.yelp.com/biz/banditos-tex-mex-cantina-dallas

Dallas downtown at night rolls up the sidewalks. you will be amazed how little action there is. so be prepared.

for my ponyfans brother/sisters, FYI Rutgers invented college football playing Princeton for the first ever game in 1869

Shameless plug. I have a bar downtown not too far from the Omni (15 minute walk) at 1608 Elm (maybe 6 blocks from Dealey Plaza). It is sports friendly and a block east from the Akard DART station. Tourists welcome.

Downtown Dallas is typical of most midwestern downtowns these days. It's an area undergoing a big transformation from the 70's/80's days of suburban commuters back to an actual urban core neighborhood. Don't expect Manhattan, but you should find a diverse and fun mix of folks wandering through the maze of skyscrapers.

Also, all of the above recs are spot on.

I have done the DART to DFW. It's not hard, but allow at least one to one and a half hours of transit. The flat cab rate to downtown is $55 I believe, and will take about 25 minutes. DART will cost you $2.50 each way for the bus/train.

No, I was too old. But the senior citizens tickets were just 10 cents.

Just to make the image clear, no member of the male sex, should pass up a trip to the Boulevard before the game. However, when you bring your wife, try not to make your head move too much when you see the "scenery".

Damn.

What a bunch of insecure jackasses.

Funny, considering they'll expect to (and probably will) kill us, I expect if posted the same thing on their board as an SMU fan, they'd probably be alot more polite.
