If we're going to explain the concept of standard deviations to Cougar King in this thread, it's going to take awhile.

     You've gotta be kidding me. A 24!!!!!! Hahahahahaha. You would never get into SMU with that. A hard working, but not very naturally smart, good friend of mine in high school who played football, had a 3.9, was Afghani and got a 24 was rejected and we both went to a tough private high school where every year 99-100% of kids go to college. And that was almost 6 years ago. It's way tougher now. You think you would have gotten in?

Hey, I have an idea on how to increase attendance at Ford...

How about playing natural rivals, with large alumni bases nearby? Perhaps a school, where just about everybody in DFW knows somebody who attended there? Perhaps a school only 30 miles away, with an enrollment of over 30K, who plays in showcase stadium itself?

For pete's sake, you already are scattered to the four winds in the American anyway. Your non-conferences are really your best shot at full houses. Don't ever burn one on some FCS team from 2,000 miles away (that is good enough to win the game at that). You do like to schedule former SWC teams, but they pretty routinely whip your butt - any doubt Baylor would have laid 50+ on you had you not fled screaming from that game? So you like close opponents, but presumably prefer to have some prayer of winning the game. Got it.

Just accept it. North Texas should be on your schedule EVERY YEAR. We would for sure bring at least 10-15,000 to Ford. That makes it likely you can draw high 20s or even low 30s for the NT game. Not to mention, on "away" years, its just a short drive up I-35 to watch the Ponies in a beautiful stadium.

Flame away. You know I am right.

Actually, you're 100% right. I was very happy to see that we've scheduled UNT on a home-and-home basis through 2025.

I like UNT. And on the plus side, courgarKing would get a kick out of it as well. It's actually a school that he can compare UH academically to and might even make fun of.

Actually, I think SMU-UNT should be playing each other in football. Also think SMU-UNT should be playing each other in men's basketball for a couple of reasons!!! (1) To show the difference in talent between SMU and UNT. (2) To show the difference between a HOF basketball coach, and an average basketball coach. . . So glad you guys have Tony Benford as your coach, and not us. . . Can't believe SMU was actually thinking about hiring Benford!!!

A tribute to wisdom of your AD's office indeed! However, I just sense some push back from your fan base whom seem to think that NT is beneath them. I knew we were on the schedule in the future, I did not realize it was through 2025. That is outstanding news. Now where do we fill out that application for the American Athletic Conference....

Well, I for one think it's great. We need to build interest in the Metroplex and a game against UNT will do that moreso than UConn or East Carolina. I'm looking forward to it and will hopefully make it up to Denton for one of the games too. We better win that game every year, though.
