Not to beat you down but the board reflects how the team plays... They always seem to play to lose against big teams and fight for their life against team they should easily win against.
Rice RB, Charles Ross, is gonna go nuts on Coog High's defense. . . You can take that to the bank
Our defense is 38th in the country right now, has only allowed 13 ppg and is #2 in the country in forced turnovers. Unlike Smoo, we can stop an FCS offense and will light up Rice in front of 30-40k.
A&m hung with bama like I don't think any other team has during this mini dynasty run. Yes, LSU beat them in OT but definitely didn't look better than them, and you could blame some of the outcome of that game on missed kicks.
If you hid the scoreboard during the game, I'm not sure you could really know what the outcome was. A&m looks fantastic.
Of course it would be fun if we won. But we struggle to beat average cusa teams. Lets not be ridiculous here. This is no different than UNT/rice/Arkansas st etc hoping for a win in their opener on the road against UT/OU/LSU etc.
Wish we could fast forward to tcu. Not a good chance there either but at least some possibility.
This one is not going to be any fun whatsoever to watch.

Your coach will be back on the hotseat after UH loses to Rice this weekend.

WOW! 38th in the country against Texas Southern and Temple. . . Color me impressed
They put the SMU spread exactly in between these two, which makes sense.
I would expect that we would fare better than SHSU, and I hope that we see some good Offense out of the Ponies on Saturday - seeing as every team that has played A&M this year has put up at least 4 TDs on their Defense.

Hey Queen, do they have any trolls on that illiterate Houston team in need of humiliation from a real university - Rice? Hope you are going to the game. Rice is going to give your boys a severe beat down.
You have been trolling for too long on the smack corner in South Houston...

BS. The team is not as bad as you think. The Mustangs will surprise us. And, they might just beat TCU.

And Bama rolled off 35 points in a row at one point. Bama didn't have a perfect game by any means and has a lot to work on this week, like outside coverage and holding on to the football inside the two yard line. Aggy barely beat LaTech and Ole Miss last year.
Comparing QBs, Jonathan Football is #6 in QB rating (11.1 ypa, 11 TD, 3 Int, 1 sack) and GG is #78 (6.4 ypa, 1 TD, 0 Int, 9 sacks). The AAC's Blake Bortles (UCF) is #5. McCarron is #29 overall, so it doesn't take a great QB to beat them. Combine solid play with time management.

7 of that was from a pick 6 and they also picked off A&M in the endzone when it was 14-14. So unless you expect SMU's defense to be as good as Bama's I don't see SMU pulling anything close to that off.
Our defense is a high risk/reward defense. It is based on getting turnovers. If we manage to pick a few off Johnny Football and we manage to not turn the ball over ourselves. This could be an interesting game. I think the key for us is that we have no depth and if its hot again, we'll wear down by the second half, just like we did against Tech. If we can manage to have some long drives on offense, then we might stand a chance for a surprise. One thing to expect, is that our coaching brain trust will throw some wrinkles at them which will not be expected. I'd love to see them run a read-option like the Redskins ran last year. That would surprise the Ags.
