You can buy craft beers in the main concourse at Stars games. Separate cart. Let's do it that way.

Do we really need to have them standing around pondering which brew to try next? Unless I am told I do not expect to know what I am being served when I order a beer.

In today's world, they already have to choose between Miller/Coors/Bud and the corresponding light version. If that is what they want, craft beer options, even if available, will not enter the consideration set. No one is going to say that and then struggle to figure out if they want a Miller Lite or a craft beer.

Further, if our goal is to attract the average Dallas fan who is wealthy enough to buy season tickets, our best bet is to get them while they are young (and just moved to Dallas for a job after their out-of-town undergraduate experience). In my experience, young people prefer to be able to have a variety to choose from, and while the domestic giants are still the most chosen beers, craft beer has a larger penetration in this demographic than it does in other age ranges.

We need to have options available. I, for one, will not be drinking beer if my options are limited to Miller or Miller Lite.

Craft beers are great and super trendy, but I'm looking to throw down at a sporting event, not evaluate the hop content. SMU is snooty enough. Whats next caviar and champagne spritzers? Drink murican mass produced junk and get rowdy, you nancies

Calallen, a Dallas resident does not have to be rich to put down $120 for a season ticket.

Don't need a cart. Put the fancy stuff in the suites. That is where your wealthy folk stay, and they deserve a little something extra. Those of us in the every man sections should be happy with just a beer.

There will likely be a deal wherein one company is the sole provider and manager of alcohol sales at the venues and will preclude outside competition.

Again, selling alcohol, especially to an arena size crowd, is much more complicated than just rolling in some kegs. I like the idea of having Lakewood/Peticolas in separate kiosks, but the logistical problems would outweigh the lower profit margins.

I understand that; and I concede I have very little practical knowledge. If that's the case, great, that's how the world works. I'm merely whining to push back against the notion that (1) it should be everywhere; and (2) it's classic SMU woefully out of touch with Joe Sports Fan and the real world.

Didn't say they had to be rich. I'm targeting the middle class who moves in from other areas. The rich can buy a box.

You don't have to be rich to desire craft beer, either.

For sure, but most venues nowadays are smart in the contracts they sign and limit that deal to regular concessions. That's why there are craft beer kiosks at Rangers Ballpark and the AAC.
