What would it take to acquire this property between Martel and Ellsworth Ave... wouldn't be on campus but we could put something SMU related that faces 75 for marketing... I know someone mentioned a Times square look once before...

Ah. That's too bad because it would provide plenty of room for an IPF.

It's one potential site for softball if we ever decided to add baseball/softball

I live in that neighborhood and I doubt the neighborhood would let that city owned park go away without a battle royal.

If JJ wouldn't let the IPF be built where the old Mrs. Bairds was as the players would have to walk over to it, hard to see him letting it be built across 75. I believe that UT players are bused to their IPF from the locker room when they use it.

The plan was for it to remain a city park; just one with a college softball stadium

I think Hart told me last year that they would like to build the IPF on the current Wescott site and they wanted to build a new soccer facility (along with other athletic facilities) on the east side of I-75. Not sure I remember that correctly but if so, there is still plenty of fundraising to do

I would love for SMU to make a deal with Dr. Pepper and make Dr. P's Mustang Ballpark in the old dr pepper factory spot near Kroger.
