Well to be honest JJ should have been canned last year if not after a very likely lost to MSU (31-30). To me this admin is saying to the sports world, we don't can people for performance...

I wouldn't know who to bet on. It's too risky. We suck on the road even if its against Memphis and we have an especially sucky team (minus a few stars) where we got butt pounded by the big boys and even the little ones in our own stadium.

People defended JJ after losing to Tulane last year, they'll do the same if we lose to Memphis (and/or Temple after that).

Our AD has his first big decision to make very soon, and I don't expect it to come during the season. That being said, if we lose either of the next two it should be a very easy decision at the end of the year....I just hope our finances allow for it.

I just don't get it. I thought that turner was doing an amazing campaign fund for SMU and that the numbers were impressive. Plus we have a huge endowment for size of the school. You figure we could get some money to boost our program on our own. Maybe I miss read a few articles but dang if he isn't fired after a Memphis loss, I just don't know how any coach out there can really respect us.

Pretty intelligent commentary on why the UH offense may have struggled vs. Memphis.

Memphis has a solid defense, better than Tech's. Their 6'7" QB can hit his targets but they weren't able to sustain drives. Overall turnover margin for the year should be interesting. It was -3 vs. UH.

This should be a very good game.

Memphis has improved and don't be fooled by the record. They have out-played their last two opponents but turned the ball over too many times and ended up with losses.

F*** this *** *** *****. Just go in there and blow them up. This seems like it would be a good game to get real mad that you're an underdog.

When you say this should be a very good game I think you mean it should be a close game. I doubt these two powder puffs are going to make for a "good game".

Exactly! I hope the team adopts this attitude. Blow this team out! GG with 500+ yards passing, Shead finally gets his 100 yard game. Come on. Let's go!

We did beat Memphis at the Liberty Bowl 42-0 in 2011. Zach cleaned up; don't think the RnS was firing on most cylinders though.

We were 22 point favorites heading into that one.

First drive was great for the passing game. Later in the game was maybe the only time I recall derrick thompson actually catching a bomb after hed gotten open. Those were highlights

I'm with you Ojai. Time to get fightin' mad and blow someone out. However, Memphis seems to have improved on defense, so we'll see how the Oline handles them. Let's play a whole 4 quarters this time.

Memphis may have improved, but their defense is not anywhere as good as Tech. That's just silly .
