I guess this reaction to Patterson shouldn't surprise me because football fans are by nature irrational. But GP built that program. Without him, there would be no home games against Texas, no new stadium, no Rose Bowl, etc., etc. I'm a little shocked at the TCU fans reaction. Some of them have clearly lost perspective and have become entitled. Last time I attended a game at Amon Carter was in 1997. I saw a winless TCU team playing in a sewer in front of about 12,000 people. A home game against Texas in front of 50,000 fans in a beautiful new stadium was unthinkable then.

That being said, I'm also a little surprised that GP lit into the fans like that. I'm sorry, but a 3 1/2 rain delay stuck in a football stadium concourse is enough to put the kibash on any crowd. I remember the thunder storm delay when we played UH a few years ago. Stood in the concourse holding my 3 year old son in a mass of people for what seemed an eternity. As soon as we got the all-clear, I was out of there. I did not sign on for that. I can't blame the TCU fans.

Bottom line is that the biggest home game at TCU since the SW Conference days was supposed to be a glorious moment, and instead turned out to be a complete disaster. Hey, stuff happens. Just move on don't turn on the fans or the guy who made everything happen over there. I suspect TCU football will be just fine.

Yeah, I couldn't believe the TCU fans calling for GP's head and talking bad about him. Yes, he's a [deleted], but he's won a ton of games and taken their program to previously unimaginable heights. I think they can cut him some slack here

Guess Fatterson isn't too keen on the "we sold all the tickets who cares if our fans use them" defense. Lot of burnt orange in that stadium and it looked like more Bevo fans stuck around after the delay. That's not supposed to happen at big time programs.

prolly the whorens fans would have preferred to stay as opposed to going back to A-town and wading through cow-patties.

I stuck around for the UH game.

Got to see a lot of Heritage Hall for an extended period of time that seemed shorter than it

Gary Fatterson is a really good football coach; however, he gets so emotionally invested in each game that he is completely irrational for hours after a loss. Early in the thread even the Frog Fans mentioned his, "Irrational rant against June Jones after the loss". Ranting about his own fans is while in one of his irrational states is never endearing or liable to make the faithful pleased with him or even recollect all of the positive things he has done for them. Can't say it upsets me...

Everyone can now point to TCU as an example of mid-level teams that can run the table in weaker conferences, but look mediocre in a P5 conference.

Just ask Utah. They upset Stanford earlier this month, but have yet to be able to establish themselves as a mid-level Pac-12 team.

Talk about complain-y...two hours in a humid, sweaty, jam-packed concourse after watching the Ponies roll over against the Cougars in the pouring rain and still 60% stayed...that's good fandom. But sure, berate the fans. That's cool.

I would like a coach at SMU that went on "irrational rants" because he despises losing...been a while for us. If the frogs trash can Patterson, I would take him in a split minute at SMU

P-81 I agree completely. However, I am not sure fatterson would fit very well with our admin and CofC.
