I liked the red helmet, but have never liked either the red or white jersey. The blue is off the chart!

I think the Mustangs wore those red helmets with the white Mustang along with blue jerseys my frosh year at SMU. Seems like the pants might have been gray, though. My memory fails me

it never ceases to amaze me how popular these uniform threads are, but I guess that goes with the SMU culture.

meanwhile, for the superstitious crowd...we are undefeated wearing this ugly combination. That might warrant breaking it out again for UCF?

CP, from pictures I have seen you are correct about the gray pants. Those were good looking uniforms.

Hey, guess what: we won the game. And I don't know how it looked on TV, but in person, the red on red didn't look too bad because it matched. Can't say that for a lot of schools that try to go monochromatic. Helmets are usually different shade than threads. But who am I kidding? It's pony fans. Please continue complaining about the smallest things and throwing the coach under the bus because he won a football game. That seems perfectly same.

I liked the switch to red helmets -- the first time we've worn them in more than 40 years. I didn't even mind the red-on-red look, but red helmets over blue jerseys is a better option. Also, the galloping Mustang decal on the helmet was too small.

I'm sick of the ugly Northwestern stripes over the shoulder pads, ditch them!

The red helmets with the blue jerseys would look great.

Seriously, I criticize him for many things, this...not so much. But of course I am a few thousand miles away.

I don't usually jump in on all the uni talk, but what would have looked awesome is the red helmet, white jersey, grey pants. I'm not usually a fan of dark helmet and jersey combos, but you guys have me wondering how the red helmet and blue jersey would look.

And given how much construction is happening on campus, and how expensive it is to go to this school now, budget constraints is a crap argument. Consider it marketing expense and be done with it. Ridiculous to think we can't have uni combos choices like practically every other relevant school.

I would prefer gray pants or better yet, solid red helmets, red jerseys with khaki pants ala Doak days. We should wear these sometimes to honor his legacy.
