IMO he doesn't respond to 'sensitive' questions. A friend emailed me that he sent a question about changing soccer coaches and there has been no response in spite of the fact that this progam has totally crashed.

He did respond - appreciated the input - said they're considering ideas to increase attendance and enhance game experience - would share the ideas with his team.

Nice...biggest issue is probably getting alcohol in the stadium in the first place (hopefully this is happening in 2014), and if you wanted to do a full bar setup, getting approval for that in non-premium seating areas

NOOOO!! LOSER ATTITUDE! Doing that would lower our capacity from 32,000 (which is nothing, our house should be at least 45k) and making it 24,000 or so?!?! NOOO!!! Pony Pub idea is cool but for SOUTH ENDZONE where there is NOTHING except the JUMBOTRON

We need to up the ante...look at what baylor is doing. You could do a nice pony pub in what would be one of the "club areas". Of course, it would cost us $150 million or so to build a brand new house. IF we do have the money, we should make it awesome looking like Jerryworld

Have to disagree with you on this.
For the die-hards here, it's about FB, but that accounts for at most 12,000 fans, probably closer to 8,000.
Focus can't be simply on
football when we play in a 'who cares' conference. I don't care how well we are playing, well over half our conference opponents will simply not draw even 20,000 fans. Try to argue this point all you want, but when you see 6,000 fans at Ford against UConn when we are still very much in the bowl hunt, and this after having been to 4 consecutive bowls, it tells you all you need to know. It's time for a fundamental change on how to approach this.
We need to play to our strengths, which in our case is the Blvd, partying and how inexpensive we are compared to the Cowboys. I like the Coral concept a lot. Also heard complaints (maybe it was last year), that WiFi reception at Ford was poor. It needs to be fantastic at ALL areas of the stadium.
Finally, just curious PFs, do you advertise at Ford or Moody? If not you should.

Once again, you know nothing, Removing the top portion of the north endzone seats would take us to about 30K, not counting the capacity of the Pony Pub. And no, our house should not be 45K, at least not until we're selling it out regularly, which if you've been to a game this season besides Tech you know isn't happening anytime soon.

Alright, how much more evidence do we need that this guy is a troll?
We're not building a new stadium for about 100 years

Okay, let's say we turn it around with a new coach and awesome recruiting...we start packing our current stadium as well as draw an awesome following in Dallas. We get invited into Big 12 Conference or some other big one that wants us. Wouldn't you want us to have plans in place to have a brand new stadium built?

No. If the stars aligned, Moses parted the Red Sea again, and that happened, we would add a deck on the east side of Ford and maybe enclose the horseshoe to bring us to around 45-50,000.
In the meantime, we need to focus on getting people inside the stadium. Winning alone won't solve the equation. We need an exciting, engaging atmosphere. Someone made a point about Wifi- the Wifi and cell reception at Ford needs to be spot on. That's an area we can control.

there is no way we are going to reduce seating like that in the North End Zone -the South End zone is really the only option. There are still SMU fans that aren't going to limit our possible future ceiling by taking more seats out. If lightening strikes and we ever hope to reach the next level we will need a TCU/Baylor/UH type stadium or at least one that seats 42,000 to accommodate higher profile teams. Just a fact-otherwise, we are not even in the discussion-I don't care about Duke or Wake forest-they are already in. Nobody cares about SMU's unique issues-we will be measured by comparison to other schools with better facilities. We may not know how to fill those seats right now but we aren't going to limit ourselves either. I think the chances of taking out seats North End Zone are close to ZERO. I'm sure there have been some general discussions about what eventually to do in South End zone.

Even if we got to a point where we needed to exapnd Ford, those north endzone seats are the least desirable in the stadium. We have more endzone seats right now than TCU does in 45K Amon G Carter. The trick is adding more desirable seats- i.e., another deck on the east end

but the problem is that any possible deck is going to be severely limited due to UP's height restrictions-if any second deck is possible at all.

We had the plans on that SMU2BCS site showing how the east end deck would be added on, along w/ enclosing the horseshoe. I'd like to think if our BCS hopes hinged on it, we could get east end approved.
I mean, would it be taller than Dallas Hall? or HPUMC? Or were those grandfathered in?
