I've forgotten more SMU Football than Phil Bennett ever knew
Catastrophic knee injury aside, he'll play in the NFL. He's probably a mid round draft projection right now. Wherever he ends up in the draft, I don't see his stock changing much based on an additional one or two games.feelthehorsepower wrote:We really need Garrett Gilbert to play this one. It would be awesome for him if he can keep racking up some numbers and Ws and get in the NFL
willis seemed to move pretty well.Stlhockeyguy02 wrote:Just duct-tape the hell out of it. Gilbert would still be about as mobile as most of our QBs that came through here post-Flannigan.

I've heard several statements to that effect, the most recent being Coach Doug Graber who did color for the USF game on ESPN3 last week.sbsmith wrote:Who rates him as a mid-round pick right now?
I'm a big Cowboys fan, and I completely agree with this and would LOVE for this to happen. I think if he could be brought along slowly, he could have a good pro career (all mental for him).StallionsModelT wrote:As a Cowboys fan I would have no problem with taking Gilbert in the 5-7 round as a potential backup to Romo. Dallas isn't going to be bringing back Orton (although I do think they try to go out and bring in a veteran backup) and Gilbert would add to the backup competition in training camp and maybe make the 53 man roster and have a year or two to learn the system. Yes I'd love to have Garrett Gilbert in Dallas.
Better question: Would you take a flier on GG or on Aaron Murray (UGA QB who just tore his ACL, but is record holder for Yards/TDs/etc.)?ojaipony wrote:I'm a big Cowboys fan, and I completely agree with this and would LOVE for this to happen.
