I would have thought that under "Business", UH would have listed all of the 7 Eleven "Employees of the Month" !

Get the old quote right. UH fans don't work at 7-11, half of us eat there and the other half rob it.

An old Hoss Brock line if I recall correctly.

That is who it is attributed to, but no one really knows who said it. Prior to the 1985 Cotton Bowl (UH's 4th Cotton Bowl appearance in 9 years in the conference), an unknown bowl official said "Damn it, half of these (Houston) people will come up here and eat at the 7-Eleven store, and the other half will be trying to hold it up." Hoss Brock, the Cotton Bowl's executive vice president at the time said it was probably meant as a joke. No one came forward with which official said it and no action was taken against that official, so Brock is usually attributed with the quote since it was his committee.
That same year, a DMN reporter called the UH football team a bunch of cockroaches because we spoiled the nation's chances of seeing Flutie play against a more nationally recognized team like UT or top 10 ranked SMU. Damn UH for actually winning the conference on the field, beating both of those teams

.

Hoss used to be at SMU and I casually knew him. If I had to choose, I would say he said it.

It wasn't a quote. It was an observation, based on the many 7 Eleven employees I've seen wearing Coog Tees.

Thank you for understanding.
Meanwhile, a UH troll with multiple user names posts at will.
