speaking of Bennett and his plan...that was the year they started making guys come off the field if/when they lost a helmet and Bennett has his guys headhunting early in the game as a way of breaking SMU's rhythm. It was within the rules, but I thought pretty cheap. Better than having guys lay down though...not that it was needed in what turned out to be a huge mis-match

72-17
Baylor wins.
As of now, it's supposed to be cloudy.
No rain & no injuries on either side should make for a great day.

Baylor also graduated their top linebacker. Looks like the Bears lost a good amount of players as well. I think we should respect them but not fear them. I think UCF respected them but did not fear them.

I hear you but I am just saying they are young in areas as well and are not invincible as we saw in the bowl game. I don't necessarily think we win but I do think we should give them a better game than some think. Again, kind of like in basketball where we respect everyone but fear no one.

UCF also didn't see it as just a preseason game. They were looking to make a statement and had the coaching and talent to do so.

JasonB wrote:Baylor is the best team by far that we will play all season. Young players, decent number of players with their first start, on the road to open a stadium. That isn't a great first game for anyone

Burcham knows the offense better than GG did the last time we were down there. We will be better at QB and Oline than last time, and better in the secondary. But I think they are a really, really good team. and I don't know if we have enough playmakers at WR to take advantage of an inexperienced secondary.
I also wouldn't discount special teams. A lot of times you stay in the game mentally and physically and then have that shanked 20 yard punt...
Seems Baylor has a decent amount of young players as well. As far as receivers go, in some of your past post I believe you indicated that we were talented at WR. I would think that as many WR's as Coach Jones has recruited over the years that they could take at least some advantage over a Baylor secondary that only returns one starter. But I do think we get beat. It will be a good test for our defense as well to see if Coach Mason can make good halftime adjustments that work.

Please tell me he's not going to start that Coach Jones is just using this as a preseason game stuff again. smh.

Go Mustangs! Let's savor where we are at right now before the ugliness begins.

That video is indeed depressing. We are clearly worse (at then we had both T Reed and JG AND Zach Line). They might be better. That game's score was 59-24. I say they score about the same, possibly more, and we score less. 60 something to teens something.

UCF was a team full of 2 star and 3 star players and they rolled a team full if cheater 4 and 3 stars...highest bidder. TCU and UT on steroids. OLeary rolled them.

Baylor is beatable. Our team is better than what they rank us. Easy top 40 team on the hilltop. Pound the rock on bennets defense. Get them tired. Long bomb do it all. Beat bennet that is the goal

Ok, I'll forgive you bar tab debt if you give me a hit of whatever it is that you're smoking. That stuff has to be absolutely amazing.
