I just mean June was all about the "can't". Chad Morris may happen, but I'm more in favor of someone who will be here more than 2-3 years. I don't see why some of you believe Chad Morris to SMU is a long shot. I feel he is the obvious choice and will most likely take the job if we offer it.

I hear you but for once I would like us to try a coach that someone would actually like to come and hire away. Arkansas State has had 5 coaches in as many years and gave Tennessee a run for their money last Saturday with another 1st year coach

Twitter rumors (take them for what you will) already saying Morris has interest.

You aren't going to find a young coach that wants to make SMU their longterm spot unless SMU can give an insane amount of cash to him and somehow sneaks into a P5 conference.

I feel exactly as you do but I do not know where that midpoint is between someone staying because they are not good enough to go and someone leaving because they are too good.

How many P5 jobs are there in the best recruiting region of the country? 1? And SMU isn't that far off, it's really a diamond in the rough.

#ChadMorrisToSMU is a possibility imo.

Fair. Error on the side of special, for sure. I would just like two coaches over the next 10 years, not three (or four).

Do you really think you're building a program when you're cycling coaches every three years? Changing systems? Personnel?

I'm not suggesting we be scared to hire a hot young coach who leaves after 4-5 years. I'm just saying do we want someone who may be gone after 2-3?

Not to mention, what if Baylor opens this year?
