Sugar Bowl: Alabama vs Florida St
Rose Bowl: Oregon St vs Ohio St
If that happens, I don't have a problem with this.

I have absolutely no idea how you drop a team from #3 to #6 when they just won by 50+.

They have had their four teams from the start and have just been moving teams up and down so people would talk about it and to generate ratings.

Like everything else in CFB this is really about the money. I think TCU/Baylor is good enough to beat any of these teams. However, OSU maximizes profits. If you don't think the ADs on the selection committee don't know this you're crazy.
If the Big XII gets the shaft, does it benefit us in anyway? Thoughts?
My point exactly. The Big 12 is about to get a taste of real hegemony. tOSU draws 100k plus per game. Same dynamic at work as PSU in 1982. Follow the money (the BI0G money)
Also; tom Osbourne AND Alvarez are both on the selection committee with 1 big12 guy. TCU/Baylor do not stand a chance although its very likely head to head either of them would crush those SLOW LUGS from the bowels of this country.
Re: I welcome thoughts on the (final) CFP spot
This is great news for SMU if they would actually be considered in the inevitable Big 12 expansion. Couldn't have gone more perfectly.

Teams will shy from playing teams like SMU in the future. Teams will definitely never schedule schools like Presbyterian (think Ole Miss played them earlier this year)

Everyone re-evaluated every week
It's Iowa State
Baylor just beat #9 KState and they won the head-to-head with TCU
Ohio State 59-0 beatdown of very good Wisconsin team with their 3rd QB
Makes perfect sense.

because it was TCU. Would not have happened if roles were reversed and it was Ohio State...or even Texas or OU for that matter

Because every week, they wipe the slate and re-seed based on all criteria.
Hey we are mainly debating on the final spot. We can be thankful that the best team is not getting left out
and will have to win out to be Champ.

Also, if Baylor hadn't scheduled like a bunch of wussies, it would be over already and they would be in. That is also amusing.
I know I should be for the smaller privates getting in when this system is clearly designed to keep them out, but I can't help it.
Go to 8. P-5 plus best non p-5 auto bid, 2 at large.
Yep, I kinda agree!

I have to think that the lack of a distinct conference champ hurt the B12, Baylor, and TCU in this scenario. I would fully expect this to be a catalyst in B12 expansion, moreso sooner, rather than later. Wondering which 2 teams they will add in the offseason...

Based upon this year's disastrous SMU season, we won't be one of them.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
