UR is nice, but seemed a bit disorganized. UVA is the best of the Virginia campuses I think.

We have something special. Best in the state without a doubt.

U of R is a pretty nice campus; beyond that, the campuses aren't the most beautiful. Va. Tech has a charm to it with the use of stone and granite from the surrounding mountains, but in the end it's a very large, sprawling land-grant campus that blends in with the surrounding town and housing. It's difficult to maintain a high level of aesthetic beauty under those circumstances.

So many who have visited Richmond on here. Surprising. My great gfather was head fb coach there for a year, so I have a little bit of an attachment to the place.

You're going to have a hard time living that one down. In your defense we all fell for the JJ hype after the first few years. You were just the last one to hold out. Hopefully you now see him for the outright fraud and disgrace to SMU that he truly is.

FWIW my comment was not directly June related. Just a stab at humor with ponyboy. I am sure he is proud of his great grandfather and rightly so.

There are parts of UR that are beautiful, others that are not as beautiful.
I would agree with this. And there is no comparison with the fraternity/sorority houses. UR only has fraternity "lodges" and nothing for sororities.

There are plenty of college campuses in more attractive geographic settings, but the overall look at SMU when you consider architecture and landscaping is pretty strong to be sure...then when you mix in the coeds roaming the grounds...that's probably what bumps us up to another level

What I like best about SMU is that the campus is coordinated. Spent time at U of Cincinnati campus yesterday. Interesting place but it looks like it was created by a committee. Very little matches.

I spent a lot of time on the Rhodes campus in Memphis growing up; beautiful and romantic. But be careful when you leave the campus - not safe at all.

Gotta disagree. I actually think Washington & Lee has a prettier campus that UVa. While Virginia has the iconic Rotunda and Lawn, my overwhelming memory of all of the classic buildings on that campus is this odd smell of decay... like a lot of it just isn't maintained like it should be. Washington & Lee certainly isn't as recognizable but the Colonnade facing Lee Chapel is one of the most beautiful college settings I've ever seen.
