A sad indictment of DISD. It is also sad for those kids where DISD is failing them in preparing for adult life, and those who are do make into a college are basically being exploited rather than educated. A college education is not the be all end all but kids that are unprepared shouldn't be put in a position of having to go to college in order to get to pro ball.hoopmanx wrote:Well, we didn't target about half the kids, so some of the 'misses' people talk about around here weren't that at all. Of the ones we did target, the NCAA investigation didn't help, cause the writing about Ulric was plainly on the wall. Beyond that, we really focused on kids who could play and read this time, which has been a problem when we've recruited DISD and Dallas before.Pony81 wrote:Hoop - can you explain why we did so poorly in Dallas this past recruiting year? I was surprised that we got no one we targeted and even more surprised that A&M ran the table with what looks to be a lame duck coach.
The only kid of that entire crew that I wanted but we had no chance for was Tyler Davis.
