Funny but I have no recollection of how he played against Allen. I guess it was uneventful.

As important as this class is to get SMU on the road to where Morris wants us, I have to think every scholarship offer that the coaches put out has been discussed and evaluated a lot. He has a plan for each one of these guys. Although there are times I strongly disagree with some of the stances Stallion takes ( Yukko UT ), he has been spot on with what he has said about this staff. Morris knows what he wants and I bet he knows what the 40 times are for each player they evaluate. It is going to be a while before we start getting all 3 and 4 star players so quit whining when a commit doesn't have 4.4 speed or isn't playing the position you consider important. Patterson (TCU) made a living off taking high school QBs and making them LB's or CB's. I am excited once again about our program. This is our last shot and I think we finally, finally have the coach we need to get us where we want to be.

Great point. So that begs the question....does Morris have the same (or better) talent evaluation & player development ability as Patterson? TBD

No it doesn't, it raises the question.

Begging the question means "assuming the conclusion of an argument", a type of circular reasoning. This is an informal fallacy where the conclusion that one is attempting to prove is included in an initial premise of an argument, often in an indirect way that conceals this fact.

Interviewer: "Your resume looks impressive but I need another reference."
Bill: "Jill can give me a good reference."
Interviewer: "Good. But do I know that Jill is trustworthy?"
Bill: "Certainly. I can vouch for her."

Kids that played HS qb have a very good grasp of the game that other players may not have. Its great to have former qb's on the field if they translate athletically (Ie: Cole Beasley). Especially at the safety positions. Unless a high school is loaded, your best athlete is probably ending up taking snaps at qb in some form or another. I bet you many of the non-qb skill position players drafted this past weekend were quarterbacks on their high school teams.

Myles Duke is the No. 139 athlete in the Country (all positions) on the SPARQ National Leader Board which probably includes multi-thousands of recruits. No 20 among Texans in the Class of 2016 and most of Texans ahead of him are Texas Top 100 types or at least highly recruited. So he's a special athlete

http://www.studentsports.com/football/2 ... aderboard/

He self-reports:

6'1"196lbs
40yd Dash 4.48
Shuttle 3.97
Vertical 37.6"
Bench Press 225lbs
Squat 405lbs
100m 10.8
