The issue w him playing is that he's wasting time, other than seeing Europe, which he very well could get plenty of, over the course of his career. Use this offseason to train w someone elite, play w pros, hone your craft. Don't just play glorified pick-up w/some other squad, loosely representing the States.
he'll get more out of playing organized basketball on a first class team with quality coaching than playing pickup games. You got that exactly backwards

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Like LB, Nic has earned the right to do pretty much whatever he wants at SMU. His choice. I don't particularly like the move or see any upside in it, other than if we somehow meet KU in the dance next March, Nic will have more motivation and a chip on his shoulder to beat them. Frankly i dont understand how KU is possibly that thin at PG that they want to waste their overseas trip with another teams PG running the show. Maybe Nic can sabotage their chemistry. lol.
Actually, what this makes me wonder about is why SMU has not done a summer overseas trip. You can do one every few years. There was lots of talk about this for the summer of 2013, as I remember. Supposed to be a great chance for everyone to learn to play together, spend time together, etc. Anyone heard anything about SMU doing a trip to Europe, etc.?
RGV Pony- Exactly the prob (only prob) I have... I don't want Nic to miss out on overseas exp but I dont want getting hurt playing with them! I know can get hurt here but its not with them. Yeah I'm selfish, yeah it's wrong.
