You're kidding me, right? Do we have to keep repeating the same thing over and over? 8-5 vs 1-11. 10 years of success. Better team. Relatively speaking Morris has done a better job with what he started.

what this shows is that these schools should have hired these coaching staffs a long time ago-the strategy of young aggressive coaching staffs with deep Texas ties works. The idea that Texas schools can find great football players all over the country is and always will be KaKa-unless you have fully covered and canvassed your back yard first. It has never been true for any great Texas program although Texas and A&M might consider expanding their recruiting zones. Its generally a waste of time for most programs to send assistants all over the country when you are a Texas school. UH has 14 of 17 commits from Greater Houston area alone

btw its interesting to note that SMU and UH each have 9 3+ recruits on Scout -although UH has 4 less commits and the one 4 star. Not quite as lopsided as some suggest. And Corey Rau who has 12 offers with 4 P5s hasn't even rated yet-so its really 3 less commits-its very possible Rau gets a 3 star which would put SMU ahead of UH in 3+ stars

On 247.com UH has 17 3+ stars and SMU 14.

and why is everyone making it sound as if Houston had a BCS bowl season last year? They were 8-5 and squeezed by Pitt (35-34) in a crappy bowl. Better than our 1-11 season but that shouldnt be the explanation as to why they're dominating recruiting. they're recruiting right now like an upper-tier P5 team. Given who Morris put on his staff, young high-school coaches who recruit and without much college coaching experience, i expected recruiting to be our forte. Don't we have better facilities and such due to higher spending? Don't we have a nicer campus and better academics? Isn't Dallas a nicer location than Houston? Houston wins in fan attendance I guess, but what else is there? SMU is trailing so far behind Houston in recruiting right now and I'm not getting it.

You're a [deleted] [deleted] making a fool of yourself because you are too damn ignorant to understand what is going on. This class will have more P5 offers than any class since the DP so stick it up your [deleted]. It already has a higher percentage of recruits with P5 offers (59%) than the vaunted June Jones class (51%) and 5 of those kids were non-qualifiers plus another who quit school a few weeks into the season because he didn't go to class. I predict this class will get close to and likely go over 65% of the class with P5 offers and that is historically outstanding post DP

SMU needs to fill maybe 3-5 more spots-we are focused on about 12 kids and we are very tight with all of them-each has visited multiple times and is in weekly communications with our staff. ALL of them have multiple P5 offers-we are well positioned to close this class out with a bang and possibility a huge bang based on top Texas prospects we are close on. If we hit on 3-5 of those 12 I've got to consider this to be the best SMU class since the DP-and unbelievable coming off a 1-11

Lebanese doesn't seem to get that UH was the 4th best team in the state last year...below TCU,Baylor,A&M and better than UT, Tech and everyone else. They have a coach that is rolling from the hype of winning a natty with urban. And even then, SMU is pretty even with them in terms of head to head battles. I think 7-7 last I checked or something real close...they win Houston battles, we win the DFW battles. Each school is taking ownership of their respective town and that is a good thing, a viable alternative to the Big 12 and A&M which is what TCU was before joining. We are doing the same TCU did to move up to a better conference, just let these guys do their job...we have great alumni $$ support and everyone seems to be all in. Times a changin

Yeah of course I want the team to recruit better and do better. I'm just cutting them some slack...they don't have much to sell other than promise of facilities or what they did in Clemson and what they hope to do here. All we can do is put faith on the staff that they are evaluating correctly and doing the right things. A lot of the kids are being rated in a position different than what they will be playing here, so you have to look at each on a case by case basis. I do think scout does a better job at rating recruits than rivals so take a look at them and compare our class to AAC.
