We have a Navasota kid that is a walk on at Baylor, a really sharp classy guy that got looks from a lot of places, even SMU. Chose Baylor because of relatives that are Baylor alums. Teased him Saturday night at the high school game that with all the money he is paying, it is still just Baylor, and it is still Waco. I think that would be a great sign for this game. He takes it well, and is very capable of giving it back. He told me it is just about the scoreboard. Typical Navasota response from a kid that won two state championships during his time here.
He told me the case is a BIG topic on campus, and even in the locker room. I think Baylor curb-stomps us in the second half on talent alone, but augers in later in the season as this topic doesn't go away (much like player reaction at SMU in 1986). He will enjoy the game, and give me a call after it not to gloat, but to tease me. I'm looking forward to the next year(s), as we get the talent level to where this is a showdown. Baby steps now, but the day is coming....Right now prior it is 0-0, and I can hope that one of their team buses gets caught in DFW traffic at gametime.
All that money, and your still Baylor...and it's still Waco.

Does that mean he'll be at the game?

Not a fan of "our" writers hashtagging other schools.

I am concerned as to how we handle the traditional first game white out being held on the traditional wear red Friday. Pink?

baylor is wearing all white unis, so maybe we are going with red or blue so our stadium isn't white and green?

If June was here, he would probably have the team wear green jerseys to "honor" our opponents

I'm hearing we're wearing red. Wish it were blue (just get rid of the damn red jerseys for frack's sake).
Regarding Harvey Armstrong being honorary captain, does he have any eligibility left?

They are promoting wear red Friday so I'd say you are on track. Hopefully the last we see of the Reds for a while.

I'd be fine if we never wear the reds again.

Hey (fellow) Ponies! I went to grad school at Cox and come from a long line of Ponies. My wife also went to SMU. If it hadn't been for dropping baseball I probably would have gone to undergrad at SMU. I always watch/root for SMU when I'm not pulling for the Bears (my undergrad school). I live to far away to be at the game, but I'll be watching. I can't wait for Morris to resurrect the program (after this Friday).

Here's a link to Our Daily Bears blog site that has a very good review of SMU's roster. I always enjoy getting an objective outsider's view of our roster so I hope you guys enjoy the same.

I had the same thought, but I disagree. As long as we are the lower profile team in the matchup, I think it can only help us get more visibility by popping up in anyone's feed who searches for the #SicEm hashtag.
Also, contrary to most posters here, I don't mind the red jerseys. Must just be contrarian!

Back to the announced 2 deep . . . one of the more intriguing guys I'll be keeping my eyes on is Jesse Montgomery. He's tall and very fast supposedly. And I think Stallion liked landing him with his track background. Seems to be a great athlete.
