45-24 SMU. We come out hot again and score 21 in the first quarter.

I'm a little more reserved than that 24-17 SMU.

45-24

I do not want to pick on JJ he did some good things at SMU, but he was not in it last year and he had a weird outlook on starting the season (like start slow and build up as the season goes on)

SMU played OK against Baylor, but the game got away from them in the end so there is no moral victory there

SMU has a lot more talent than they showed last year they still have a lot of players left from teams that went to bowl games and those players should be hungry to end their careers on a high note with a new coach and leave something for the future

SMU finally seems to have a QB that does not need 8 games to get the rust off before showing something as well and he is multi-dimensional which is not good for a small D that gave up a lot of points last season

the SMU running game looks much improved as well and that helps the QB greatly and passing

I think SMU comes out focused, sharp and ready to roll in the second week of the season against a team that had not played a game yet and once SMU gets rolling there is no recovery until late in the game when it is already in the bag

42-17 Ponies.

Matt Davis with a big game passing and running, and Courtland Sutton goes over 100 yards with two more TDs. Chad gets to let off the gas in the 4th quarter.

Perfect weather, UpTempo, a dozen less missed tackles, both defenses stuggle.

SMU 49 NTSU 28

There is likely to be more green than red and blue in the stands since they travel so well, and this is close for them. UNT has over 100k alumni in the metroplex. UNT 28 Southern Meth 21

Anyone else find the logic confounding but the conclusion solid?

I'm worried because everybody is kissing their arses. Big wins/close upsets many times tend to letdowns the next game. The only thing that lets me be truly optimistic is the fact that we have a game under our belt.

SMU 35
UNT 21

UNT will bring between 5-8k for this game; they don't really have to "travel" because so many of their fans are local. Home games in Denton require more "travel" for them
