You know, he could be dismissive or not supportive of them and NOT be a covert racist.
Could be but you can't totally rule it out unless you are blind or callous,

Mizzou player tells @ESPN, MU players & coaches “are pissed (about halting football practices). If we were 9-0 this wouldn't be happening."

Exactly!!! You hit it correctly. The president didn't react like he should have, but is not grounds for dismissal...he wasn't driving the car either. I am sick of protesters interfering with drivers/worksers trying trying to get on down the road.
Since you were not there how do you know he was interfering with him getting down the road, that is not what the article said. So that gives him the right to hit the student with the car? It was more that just one issue that the president has not responded to over a period of time. I think before we totally judge these students we need to get all the facts.
Read more than one article son. I read 5 or 6 articles....there's more to the story...as always.

Right, you think they should condemn the students that are taking a stand on this a say to heck with them?

Stay off MSNBC and CNN for a start then. .....lol...the media is just out of control on everything right now---he may have not reacted quickly enough but that doesn't make him a criminal nor a racist. The whole country is jumping to conclusions....just crazy.

Would you completely rule out racial callousness having not meet the man? You must mean stay off Fox and the Rush Limbaugh type shows. Have you had a chance to read all the things being asked for and why or are you just going with conservative media?

Yes I read all sides.....and they should be suggestions not demands....10% of all professors and staff?....you hire who is qualified, whomever they are. Equality not inequality.

rebel - you are just being argumentative. Exactly what has happened to require a resignation? Not sucking up fast enough? Not removing a statute of a former president?
People are just trying to exercise some sort of PC power to see if it will work. Its irresponsible, and kind of weird that people don't get called out on it. Hope somewhere along the line someone calls their bluff.

I think this all of a bunch of trumped of BS to get attention that, again, wouldn't be happening if they were still in contention for anything besides the Independence Bowl.
I have yet to see what the big issue is- the President's car bumped into a protester at the HC parade? Don't get in the way of a [deleted] car- my parents taught me that when I was three. Some idiot kids yelled racial slurs? That sucks, but hey, there's jerks everywhere, especially drunk kids in college.
If the campus PD had beat a black student or something then I could see the outrage, but this is just insane. A man's career is being sacrificed at the altar of fake internet outrage...I hope he keeps his job. If I were him I'd bring that idiot on "hunger strike" some warm donuts and a cup of coffee tomorrow morning

People tend to hire people who remind them of themselves even if candidates are equally qualified. But even at that what about the other points?

If he is forced out, I doubt he will ever find equivalent work in this field again, waaaaay too toxic.
That's grounds for an enormous lawsuit.
Point being, there appears to be no easy solution.
Players who generate millions upon millions for a school who are not fairly compensated vs. establishment who smartly don't want the loonies running the asylum. Should make for some interesting drama this week.

Didn't the police use excessive force on the students? Or are they just a bunch of black students that we should not believe.

Not ticked- just genuinely curious as to what the big deal is that warrants players striking and the university president losing his job. Perhaps someone other than yourself could intelligently explain it to us
