We are definitely going to miss Nic's speed more than anything. I'm assuming leadership also of course. I hope we reload and someone like Sterling can step up and be that vocal leader next year that we'll need. I just think Nic's speed is his real asset at the end of the day (other than his heart of course). It keeps a lot of defenses a little off balance and seems one step ahead when he really gets it going (his speed).

Straight up, my biggest concern is how we're utilizing Shake at point. He's a DDM type PG. We would have destroyed Tulane w/Shake at point, had we just said attack every play, get in the lane and figure it out. Instead, we become too set driven and let people stagnate on the perimeter. Whereas we pass exceptionally well from the high post/elbow, we shoot poorly from there. We're unstoppable, zone or man, when we get the personel that not only can drop it to the low post, they can can a 15ft jumper w/regularity. Our pick/pop will pick up alot next year

Nic has been a PG all of his bball life you have to look at his whole game yes he can score but he's a pass first guard. When he gets the ball he's already thinking 3 steps ahead that is what you want out of your PG.

Nic is a clutch player that consistently hits clutch shots. I will be an adjustment.

He will be missed, but I'm loving every second we have to watch him. He is a legend and it's a privilege to get to see him.

He really has solidified himself as one of the all-time SMU greats. I would love to see his jersey go up in the rafters not only for Nic but as a semblance of the turnaround of this program.

Nic is the only person post-DP in either football or basketball that i think is a slam dunk number/jersey retirement. No one else is close.

Can't do it on senior day. that wouldn't be fair to MK and Jordan. Give Nic his own night next season.

Good point. It's not like we have so much stellar halftime entertainment and other people to honor at BB games that we can't do it as a special event next season at one of the games.

is it fair to Ira though? I love Nic and he is a great great player but has he really done enough to have the Jersey retired? If this team goes undefeated they deserve a mural, a plaque, and a banner in Moody.
