Re: Students
I'll pitch in for a couple of dozen of these if the mob will pull 'em out after bad calls for a couple of games

Texas bites. Baylor sucks. As it was in the beginning, is now, and evermore shall be. Amen.

community organizer? There will be one available after January 20, 2017.
he's probably available right now. seems like he's been available the last 6 months or so.

Charleston Pony wrote:If several students or the entire MOB had glasses/fake glasses and simply held them out and offered them to the officials accompanied by a chant after a questionable call...that would be pretty clever but TV commentators suggested that profanity was involved and I think the comment was "that's not funny" (referring to the language...not necessarily the idea of offering glasses to the official). I don't know, but I suspect Coach Brown was upset about what was said more so than the idea of taunting the official by offering him glasses. The MOB should take their cue from Coach Brown...he will let it be known if/when he disagrees with a call. Brown always tries to stay classy and I'm sure he just wants our student section to be the same.
I think Larry does a great job being an ambassador of class for the University and I would expect him to reprimand the student as he did the other night to save face with the officiating crew, but I think the student section should be rowdy and cuss as much as they want. I want the student section who chanted stuff at Pitino about his various sex scandals and has a fan or two tossed every game. You want players to dread coming into our building.

Re: Students
I personally don't think we have had a successful MOB unless someone is thrown out.
having an organizer is an excellent idea. We have alums who would be willing to pay for almost any reasonable props. I know I would. Need 80 pairs of goofy glasses to put on when refs blow it....done.

I agree. I think it would be funny if the students brought 3 or 4 basic props to each game. Perhaps, a newspaper (Wall Street Journal) when the other team gets ready to shoot free throws or the game goes into a time out break. Sunglasses/reflective tanning trays when the game becomes a blowout, or potential blowout. Eye glasses everytime a ref misses a call. The students put on the eyeglasses and act like they're reaching for some object they can't see (no words). And a stunt or two for every game: i.e., the swim team shows up in their trunks (I saw that in one game and it was hilarious); guys 4-5 wear blonde wigs and cowboy cheerleader tops... just funny stuff.
Re: Students
The "yes, yes, yes" chant is incredible and hilarious. I wish that would catch on with the whole arena after dunks

Re: Students
The ECU Manges Maniacs were very well organized. There was one leader who brought props and passed out signs and started the chants. He even stayed after to clean up with a few of his buddies. I was very impressed with their organization.

The entire student section should hold newspapers when the visitor's starting line up is announced. its a great bit.

Agreed, and ECU screwed this up. They had the newspapers and also had the you suck chant going. If you're reading the newspaper you should be ignoring the team, not engaging them. Unless you use the who cares chant. Those are the newspaper rules, ok.

Re: Students
I think just ignoring them and reading the newspaper is the best. no chant.

Do 18-22 year olds even know that they print newspapers? But yes, that is an awesome bit.
