Re: Ke'mon Freeman
There is a lot of raw QB talent there waiting to be developed. He certainly has the arm strength and velocity to be a D1A quarterback. Give him a redshirt year and let him compete for the job in 2017.
Back off Warchild seriously.

The main "Problem" for him is his athleticism. On a team that desperately needs athleticism, it is going to be hard to keep him off the field while he develops at QB.

Re: Ke'mon Freeman
We are starting to finally see depth at the skill positions so I could see the staff being patient with Freeman and let him grow as a QB. He could be a tremendous weapon in goal line and short yardage situations as a Wildcat QB with Xavier Jones and Jordan Carmouche/Aphonso Thomas flanking him. Three solid running options and the defense will have to account for the jump ball to Courtland or KT.

Re: Ke'mon Freeman
Scout gives him a "verified" forty time of 4.81. Maybe he is faster or will get faster. But if he it is an accurate time and does not change, what college position does that an his other measures suggest?
I'm not complaining. I'm glad he is coming to SMU. This is not an attempt to throw rocks. And I'm probably less qualified than about anyone on this board to suggest what position he might play at SMU. But what do the numbers say?

Verified times are a [deleted]. Hard to run 4.4 without mom on the stopwatch but remember, john football turned out a 4.6mid at the combine and his hs scrambles looked like power walking.

Johnny footballs strength is his agility, not so much speed. Kid can turn on a dime. This is what 99 overall agility on Xbox looks like in real life
That or he jogged/performed very poorly at the combine

Frankly, his agility (making the D miss) reminds me of a young Jamelle Holieway. Plus, he's bigger; his films showed he can either bust your chops, or leave you with some broken fingernails.
I like him!!!
And don't forget those effortless, accurate 50+ yard passes ...... IMO, he's going to spell heartache for opposing Ds.

While 40 times are interesting, quickness from 0-10 yards combined with agility is often more important. All things considered, I would (for most positions) normally prefer a guy guy with a slightly better 20 time than a guy with better top end speed.

Here's the NFL Combine results for a DT QB from a "noted" school cross town that once was the "whoop de whoop".
Player School Height Weight Off. 40 Time Unoff. 40 Time 10-Yd Split Hand
Trevone Boykin TCU 6000 212 4.77 4.78 1.67 9 3/8
...... just sayin'
