Furthermore, it is difficult for SMU to raise money when the cost per gallon of water exceeds the cost per gallon of oil at the gas station.

Bottom line is talk is cheap. I guess we will see who puts the shovels in ground first to start construction on an IPF, SMU or Houston. That will tell all anyone needs to know.

LOL. So the important thing is to be first?
Ours will be significantly more impressive that what UH is showing in that rendering but far be it from me to keep the battered wives here from demanding their bowl of blood.

It takes longer than 1 day for checks to clear
I love it when alumni complain about other alumni not writing checks to SMU.

I am not complaining about not writing checks. I am saying the IPF will be built when the money is raised. Why don't you take them the cash and then they can start tomorrow.

Which reminds me. There is a dinner on Feb 29 for the Football Excellence Fund. That's Chads discretionary account. They want 100 people there. It's 500per which is steep yes. Then again, when we ask what Chad expects and what might keep him and what might turn him on or off.. Well, if you can't write an IPF check, write this one and when they want 100 people at an event, be one of them.
Shameless plug, yes. If interested - and if youre on this board and in Dallas you should be - shoot me a pm.

No I agree with you-Its been my position for decades that SMU will get the athletic program their alumni are willing to fund-our alumni have been extremely generous in comparison to other G5 private schools that aren't state funded and don't have access to revenue from student fees from large public student body

Which is why Scouting the situation makes the pending IPF more exciting.

For ten bucks a month you'd have all the answers but whatever. Let the inmates continue to run the asylum as has always been the case on ponyfans.

You get smacked upside the head with your own words....

IPF is happening. Rest easy on that."
.....and the best you can do is whine about me?
Maybe the silver lining in Houston announcing their IPF, is it will finally spur some REAL action from SMU, instead of just talk. Everybody in the AAC is chasing Houston at this point, this is just another hurdle.
Most common reaction to SMU IPF talk, at this point is.......

Yep. Makes about as much sense as people still paying attention to that guy in Oakland after he falsely predicted the rapture what, twice?
Nut up or shut up. Sorry if I want results and I'm not going to take it on faith when it's been talked about ad nauseum for at least the last 5 years that I've been paying attention. I guess putting stock in actions and not taking things on faith and good word makes me have battered wife syndrome. (Not directed at you, just found a sympathetic ear)
make all the excuses you want for there not being one or being content with "its coming", it's not there and ground hasn't broken. If you can't operate then back the [deleted] away from the patient, don't talk about how you're going to be a doctor one day. Point is Houston is getting one and we have plans. Cool story bro, sell that to recruits.

I don't know about Oakland, but the guy in San Diego was committed.
