I thought I might find images of the "old Moody" from our SWC days when there may have been 10,000 packed into the place

I've seen some cool photos like that but haven't been able to find them on the internet

I was always hoping for the Dallas Hall logo on our helmets.

Speaking of old crowds, I'll never forget the day I saw the game against USC-Upstate with about 36 of my closest friends. Worst game ever.

I was at that game. Are you the one who was eating popcorn?

39-36 Loss to UTA

Oh damn we WON! 36-31-Just felt like a loss because of the John Shumate buzzkill just 2 years after Kato Armstrong led us to 28-7

I was at the USC - Upstate game as well. I remember wondering where was USC - Upstate and where were the fans. Had the feel of an class A high school game. Small crowd, concessions were run by what seemed like the local church, and absolutely no energy in the building.

I thought - wow- this is D 1 basketball by a major university in a major metropolitan area. And then we lost!

I also remember being equally dumbfounded by the UCONN game when Moody opened. I sat in my chair long after varsity in disbelief that this was the same venue as the USC - Upstate game. Just couldn't believe how far we had come.

Just proves that with patient, high level support, that hires competent leadership, that finds high level coaches, who can attract quality players - that a miracle like we have experienced is possible.

Yes, I dropped the bucket while we were at the line and everyone in the place looked over at me. Embarrassing.

I'm not sure which was the lowest point - losing to USC Upstate or when we scored only 29 point in a loss under Doh.

Wasn't at Moody, but the loss to Jackson State in 2011 in the "Dallas Classic" at Ellis Davis Fieldhouse was pretty bad.

Not living in Dallas most of the time, I only have good memories of Moody (well..somewhat. That loss to Kansas and Chamberlain in the Regionals still hurts) as I was at SMU during the Krebs era. But I also remember the non-basketball events there such as Bob Hope, The Kingston Trio and Louis Armstrong. I'm so old I went to games in the old Natatorium where we played before Moody was built in 1956. I believe it seated about 2,000.
