Exactly! Spent way more time at SMU football games than the ECM clowns and his 'friends', who he admits don't show up to games because the opponents are not good enough for them. How pathetic.

Just think- if we keep scheduling unexciting teams who aren't good enough that no one has heard of, your son could finally get the chance to suit up for a game at Ford. You could actually be footballdad for a day on the Boulevard!

So, I wanted to run some numbers for everyone. People can talk about hot weather, the Rangers being in the playoffs, early games, late games, competing children's soccer games, etc. The reason for our attendance is this- Since 1989 SMU is 102-222-3 (for a .312 win record). Broken out by conference this is:
SWC- 13-61-3 (.169) WAC- 33-69 (.324) C-USA- 43-57 (.430) - During my tenure from 2001-2005, SMU went 10-36 American- 13-35 (.271)
In that time frame we had the following records against these schools:
The reason we have attendance problems is because we have been consistently been terrible. What is actually amazing is that we have the support we do. It takes a true masochist to be a season ticket holder. Beat some Texas schools that matter a few times and have some consistent winning seasons and see what happens. One game or one season isn't going to change anyone in Dallas' opinion that we suck at football.
We're on the right track now with the right staff. Let it play out and see if we garner more support as the team gets better. But saying that since we didn't have support from 1989-2016 means we will never get support is a dumb argument.
