Staying on the Mike topic, boy oh boy if we had him this season. The McMurray addition in a couple of weeks will be huge but the minute Mike steps on the floor in a Mustang uniform you’ll see a new SMU star. He is incredibly talented. And there will be no adjustment period. He will go from game 1.

I suppose you would have to go further back than the schumate era.
However, when you speak of "Back in the day"- was there a time when Moody was ever full with 90% of the attendees there to cheer for SMU.
I recall a lot of opposing fans in the house for the big games at Moody. Opposing fans simply can't get a lot of tickets to take over Moody like UT, Arky, A&M, Hou, etc used to do back in the day.
I was in the building on many occasions from the late 50's thru the 60's when we had SRO crowds of 10k + with 65-90% SMU fans . Back then UT , A&M , TT always had sizable numbers at Moody. Later on , Ark had a tremendous following. SMU had some great teams back in the Doc Hayes era.

McMurray is ready for game action. Is practicing everyday with the 2's and working to be ready. They will bring him off the bench as a spark. Tough to know how he will fit in defensively. Offensively expect him to play mainly off ball. He is going to give a big scoring punch. He will particularly be useful when teams try to zone us or if Shake or one of our other primary scorers is struggling.
How he fits scheme wise will be the ultimate decider on how many minutes he will get. If he plays [deleted] D and fits in well with our unselfish offensive style quickly (while still being able to be aggressive and find his shots) he will play starters minutes off the bench, but if he struggles with either of those I would expect him to be more of a 15 minute a game guy who might play more if we need a spark/scoring punch that day or as a zone buster.
It is tough to jump in mid season and it was a bummer he didn't get to go on the Canada trip. The kid can really score and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a nice addition. Depending on how he answers the paragraph above will decide just how big of an addition this year.
Who cares about comparing Moody now to Moody from 40 years ago. New Moody is great, and it was great on Saturday night. I am not going to complain at all about attendance while it is still football season. The game was awesome.
