Chad was ready to love any P5 that came in and greatly increased his salary as evidenced by his desire to go to Baylor last year. I am just glad it was Arkansas and not Baylor.

Being a SMU alum doesnΓÇÖt mean you canΓÇÖt wish the guy well for getting a clear cut promotion. Acting bitter about it is petty at best, childish at worse. If he left for a bad P5 job or another G5 job then IΓÇÖm right there with you. But this was neither.

I never admitted to acting like a spurned woman. None of this is personal to me. I know all of these coaches are mercenaries that will sell your school to recruits for whoever pays them the most money. That includes JJ, CM, and all of the candidates we have discussed the last few days. It is precisely why I am ok with JJ, he led us to 4 bowl games, which is the best run we have had since the DP. ItΓÇÖs alsi why I am on board with hiring Todd Graham because I know no coach sees this as a destination job so why not hire the guy that can best sell SMU while he is here. CM did not accomplish any more than JJ while he was here yet you have him on a pedestal while you trash Jones. I am thankful for what each gave us and also am realistic about their limitations. Get over your obsession, you come across as a childish fool.

I don't remember seeing anything about the team being worst if Chad was still here. If he picks off the good recruits and we don't add any decent ones then yeah sure we will see a little regression in a 2 years but I don't see why we would be at least competing in the middle of the AAC next year.

Tired SMU fan base. No indoor practice facility as promised. How many came out for UCF? 24,000 announced and how many actual? 15,000 while the Boulevard's packed?

The other side of that is that is Hicks, Quinn, Proche, Jones, Freeman, etc. will all have more experience and there will be others ready to step up. I know our schedule will be substantially more daunting so I expect regression due to difficult of schedule. However, if Chad really was doing such a great job recruiting then we should have at least 3 great classes of recruits ready to play and win. Sign a great coach pretty soon and we would have 4 great classes of recruits.
