Problem with the way Bilas does this is it's impossible for those 68 teams to be "the" teams as he doesn't include the small conference teams that get auto bids as part of the 68. Bilas has openly campaigned to not allow them, which I strongly disagree on. Anyway, makes this a little tougher to navigate but with a handful of teams above us on this list also getting auto bids from the bigger conferences, we are right on that line (just as most bracket experts are predicting right now). I believe 36 is the number of at-large, and with 8 "major" conference auto-bids presumed to be amongst the teams ahead of us, the top 44 on his list would be his prediction for who would go. First Four here we come

Boise at #34...interesting

Boise's numbers are pretty good. Worst loss is neutral court vs Iowa State. #38 RPI, #53 KenPom, #54 Sagarin. What hurts them though, and what the committee has said is now the #1 most important factor, is a lack of quality wins. Best win is neutral court over Illinois State. They get two chances for very solid wins when they play Nevada, but I still think it will be tough for them to get in unless they split with Nevada, run the table, and then play Nevada again in the MWC final.

Obviously we are huge fans of each others at this point though!

At least USC is behind us. I swear if we were in the Big 12, SEC, PAC,etc our ranking would be top 20 on this thing

Bilas openly admits his bias against those like us, so wouldn't worry to much about it. More importantly, it really doesn't mean anything, just like the AP Poll and Coaches Poll. KenPom, Sagarin, RPI, etc are much more meaningful when it comes to making the tournament. But with that said, while our conference has made major strides, the new criteria (extreme focus on who you beat) certainly favors those from conferences like the ACC and Big 12 who will have many more opportunities to beat top teams than we will. Just makes the margin of error that much smaller and games with Cincy, Wichita, etc that much more important (assuming we predominantly take care of business in all other games - like tonight).

-SMU has 4 top 50 wins, USC has 2.
