I think by year 4 they will be competitive in the SEC West again. But we shall see.

Last year they were 4-8 with wins over Florida A&M, New Mexico State, Coastal Carolina, and Ole Miss and that was w/a fairly good senior QB running the show. Plus they were only able to sign like 15 players in the offseason. Arkansas was going to have full blown rebuild regardless of who they hired.

I'm guessing (and rightly so) they weren't expecting to blow a 4th qtr lead to a Mountain West Conference team and lose......

.....and also get blown out by a Conference USA team AT HOME......

both while looking totally unprepared by a coaching staff with that 'deer in the headlights' look on their faces.

I'm just guessing though.

We nearly lost (and probably should have) to a 3-9 Coastal Carolina team last year. Nothing really surprises me at this point.

knowing what we know now, the question for us is why the heck didn't we hire Tom Herman when we had the chance and went instead for Chad "Cheap Salesman" Morris.

He would have left just like Morris and we would all be relishing in the Maryland losses.

No question he would have left but the cupboard unlikely to have been so bare and we would have won more with him. He's a proven winner at the college level, and he will turn around Texas as much as i dislike them. Salesman Morris isn't. The evidence is one is at Arkansas and the other at UT because of what they were able to do and not do at their previous schools.

Herman took over a better program which is why he won more and got a better job. Switch the two and you'd have the same results.

The cupboard, or as they said in the Arkansas paper, the cup board is absolutely bare at UA whereas Texas is a perennial top 10 national recruiter. No comparison. And then the previous regime not only recruited for smash mouth football, he spoke to the Texas High School coaches association and told them the spread type offenses were not the way to play. That pretty well cut off Texas recruiting in Arkansas. That is the reason they went with Morris and I think it will pay dividends down the road.

Yep. I remember he was going to bring smashmouth Big 10 football to the SEC where speed kills.

Would Texas Tech pay significantly more than Arkansas? Does pretty boy at TT make more than Chad? I doubt Chad would make that kind of lateral move would he? Except the Texas Tech fans may be more patient than Hog Fans, Texas Tech does seem like less pressure. Plus Chad would probably fare better in the Big 12. He's gonna get killed in the current SEC.

KK had the big victory against Houston, and Mahomes performance in the NFL is going to boost his recruiting pipeline. I don't think he is going anywhere for a while...

If they don't win at least 8 games I think he's gone. Take a look at their schedule - that is going to be very tough to do. They won't beat WV, TCU, OU, or OSU this year and they have Iowa State on the road (where they are always tough).

Seth Littrell will likely be out there next season. If not, he certainly won't be at UNT for their bowl game.

Wonder if USC takes a look at Littrell if they make a move with Helton
