Yes, we have lost a number of recruits over the years to Power Five schools. However, the circumstances are different here - he has already considered multiple offers from Top 25 teams but still chose SMU.

He also plans on enrolling in December which means he is around for spring practice.

It's not the offer, it's the enticement. A lot can happen in a year and he could decide he wants to play big conference football instead. You know how fickle 17 year olds are I imagine. And I seem to recall a certain used car salesman talking about how much he loved the mustangs growing up and how he bled red and blue...
I'm just saying that I'll celebrate once the ink is dry.
