And extending a deadly virus is a best case scenario? Really?
Not many options when you have an AD that is incompetent and focused running off his fan base, a president who cares more about fountains than being top 25 in sports, and has failed to move us up academically in national rating. One who is more stale than month old bread and is only protected by his BOT that is indebted to him. Then we have no bball fans who have enough interest or money to institute a change. The last 3 years have proven that janko-vid is not the coach for us. LB built a winning program and now our current bozo has destroyed it. Long past time for a change.

COVID limits on attendance at Ford was a big financial hit. Basketball attendance will be down too, but you can't blame that all on COVID. Bottom line, athletic department taking a financial hit as a result. Add in the hit commercial real estate is taking and West TX Intermediate at around $40 a barrel, money to pay off a bad contract is going to be hard to find.
yes, a contract for 5-7 yrs for an unproved coach is insanity. The AD should be fired for that and other actions he has taken. Like most things SMU it won't happen as there is no commitment to championship sports programs.

We did get a gift in Sonny with Cal subsidizing his pay and Sonny looking for redemption after venturing out of his natural habitat. Let's just hope SMU's commitment to keep him is strong because if his success at SMU continues, more regional P5 programs might come calling. As for Jank, this should be his "make or break" season at SMU.

PB- please enlighten me on our recent fball chamionships the last several years- national champions-no, AAC champions- no.
'make or break season' Gee, how many times have we heard that in the last several years? What is jank-vid's record since he had to start recruiting and playing his own players instead of LB's players? Inquiring minds would like to know.

This is pretty much Jank's roster this year. Can't really think of anyone that L.B. was even involved in bringing to SMU...maybe Chargois? I'm not sure whether Coach Brown ever weighed in on the recruitment of Chargois but he never coached him as a player...so this year is entirely on Jank.
Had to love the completely botched "Kansas" double circle in bounds play at a critical moment tonight. Pretty much cemented Cincy's win. We were lucky they didn't call 5 seconds it took so long for that mess to unfold. Really have to wonder what a different coach could do with this roster.
