For sure and for certain. After all the millions he's made off the purple people, he should have stuck it out for his players and fans.

Not really unexpected behavior for that classless son of a [deleted].
An object at rest cannot be stopped!
Re: Sonny Dykes to TCU??
This reminds me of the smug joy Arkansas felt after they stole CM from SMU. How did that turn out?
Re: Sonny Dykes to TCU??
So TCU wants Sonny Dykes...Hmmm...
Let's see here:
-AD decides (through big alum pressure) to put GP to pasture after several meltdowns and coaching malfunctions the last three years...
-PR nightmare when GP says "no" and quits on team/program/kids/University
-A quick save by finding him a "place" in the paid structure...
-GP is the most successful coach in school history...
-TCU is not LSU, where two bad years is a guaranteed pink slip...
-And your'e doing all this to get a shot at the "Sonny Dykes Sweepstakes"?
My, Oh my that takes a lot to follow THAT logic.

Balanced view of Sonny's situation and projected value of staying on the Hilltop. Are we ready to write checks for him, his staff and expanded Football facilities at Ford Stadium? If we aspire to the next university to be called up by a P5, the next few weeks may determine our likely future ... both on and off the field.

Give me a break. Imagine Sonny saying "If I leave I would rather go to TCU than Texas Tech," in front of multiple people who have so little loyalty that they then tell CBS sports.
Did not happen. Total made up BS. These so-called reporters have no shame. Not to mention a working knowledge of the use of the subjunctive mood.
Re: Sonny Dykes to TCU??
Does anyone else feel that signing Sonny to a contract pegged at a top Big 12 coach deal is imperative insofar as setting us up for a better conference? We can't afford to be seen as a stepping stone anymore in terms of our commitment to big time football.

Re: Sonny Dykes to TCU??
My solution to this whole debacle is to sign Donati away from TCU, get him to put a shovel in the ground on the Football Ops Center on Day 1, and then let him negotiate a long extension for Sonny.

Er, ueah, I mean, offer him market rate for P6 coach that has his team stumble to the finish 3 seasons in a row.

I don't know if these guys care so much about the $. 3mil 4mil, what's the difference? They're mostly all egomaniacs who want to be the the official head coach of the universe, lots of fans, etc.
