1-8 Florida State goes up against No. 3 UVA today. Could FSU be worse than SMU? No, not even close but they might end up with a worse record. This season's new cheer for the hundred or so fans that show up at SMU games:

In the battle for the "ACC's worst team" Florida State is crushing winless Louisville 75-53. As bad as our season has been so far, I would imagine Samuel Williamson is glad he got out of KY. That has to be really disheartening for that program and it's fans.

Temple loses to Penn in the battle for Philadelphia and Cincy slow out of the gate is down 10-1 to Xavier in the battle for Cincy. I'm not expecting much of a contest vs TCU tonight in battle for DFW. TCU should play UNT (as should SMU) for Metroplex bragging rights. Would like to throw in UTA and make it an annual tournament event with each team playing the other 3.

Utah State handling Seattle easily so it looks like we will face a 10-1 Utah State team tomorrow night. Utah State was sitting at NET # 24 before the Seattle game. Huge opportunity for our guys tomorrow

Utah St. has a 7'1" guy and a 6'9" guy off the bench that look like they will give SMU quite a bit of trouble inside. Their only loss was at home to an unaccomplished Weber St. team. Two good performances in a row is asking a lot.

TCU, Dayton, Utah St and New Mexico all win today and NM remains undefeated on the season/ Pulling for everyone we played and lost to as I still want to believe this SMU team is better than they showed early. Need to beat Tulsa in Moody to open AAC play to keep me believing

The Xavier/UConn game was one of the best I have seen. Great crowd at Cintas Center up here.

UConn basketball improved quickly after hiring Hurley and leaving the AAC to return to the Big East. Their football team has improved as well.

Tulane held off Memphis and got the win in New Orleans despite K.D.'s 31 point effort. Memphis at times looked like SMU when K.D. was here, i.e., at times they just wait for Davis to take over and others aren't as involved as they need to be
