I think the team is doing better ,lets see if they win tonightCharleston Pony wrote:At 18-5 with 8 more regular season games; 4 at home and 2 of those against teams currently ahead of us in the standings, this team is entering their "contenders or pretenders" stretch of this season. After the humiliating losses to Duke, Louisville and UNC I thought this team was toast but they have looked good since going to the 3 guard lineup. Have to defend Moody. Hope the place is packed and rowdy for this week's games against Pitt and Wake.

For the first time on ESPN's Daily Bubble Watch, after beating Pitt last night, SMU has moved from the "Work to Do" category to the "Should Be in" category on this morning's report and they list us as having a 78% chance to make the tournament.
Every game counts. A notable prognosticator thought that if SMU splits between Wake and Clemson and wins the rest of the games that we will be favored, we are in.
Wake game is much more important than Clemson since we are fighting them for a spot. A loss to Clemson would probably not hurt that much since they are in the tournament anyway.
Really need to beat Wake on Saturday.

Beat Wake, finish strong and be one of the top 4 seeds that are guaranteed spots in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tourney. That's the goal

No. No. No. Wake at Moody is not Quad 1. The biggest knock on SMU is the lack of a Quad 1 win. Beating Wake is important. Beating Klempson is season-making.shadowman wrote:Wake game is much more important than Clemson since we are fighting them for a spot. Villanova upset # 9 St Johns tonight. That helps us because Virginia beat Villanova in the non-conference...the same Virginia team we beat twice this year. Games like that will help our NET ranking which had come up to # 36 last time I checked

Why not just take the top 64 net ranked teams? Thanks for explaining.
