I watched this game as we prepared to attend the ACC Championship Game last night and was reminded how painful it can be to watch Virginia basketball. Thank goodness we have a shot clock so they couldn't play "Four Corners" basketball against us. I was encouraged to see the development of Samet and came away at least knowing we can play a half court game which is what Virginia wants. We couldn't find our shooting touch and I will blame that partially on the slow pace of the game but Virginia plays tough perimeter D when they get you into a half court game. Thank goodness Oquendo shot well as he was the difference down the stretch

SMU moves up to:
42 in NET
44 in ESPN's BPI
51 in Kenpom

Don't look now, but we are 4th in NET in the ACC ahead of UNC which is 43rd. Wow! Keep winning and move up into the 30s and we may just be an at large selection.

Qualifying for the ACC Tourney would be a good place to start because not every team plays in 2025
