OK. It's contrary to everything I've ever heard, and to the first-hand recollections of others who've replied. But it is what it is.

Turned out to be a fun year with Hixson, LeVias, and a Bluebonnet Bowl win over OU. I was a junior in high school, and got to see the N.C. State game win with the M.Y.F. and the win over A&M with my Dad (SMU 50), and brothers. If Fry hadn't be fired, rumor was my brother would've been recruited for a scholarship as a smallish TE or receiver. I later became SMU 76.
The picture of Hayden and Jerry would make a great statue.
