Let's really punish them and set up a play in game at Verizon Arena in Little Rock. The WDNWHA Committee will foot the bill for the sponsorship.

Man, Lunardi(ESPN) still has the South and East regions really stacked compared to the West and Midwest regions..

and South winner plays East in Final Four.

Mostly because of demographics. If you look at where the most tourney teams are, they're coming out of the East and Midwest. Highest seeds get priority on home court advantage, so it makes sense. Look at the Midwest regional (Indianapolis), you have all these teams before the year ranked in the top 11 that technically any one of them could have ended up with the "home court" advantage there. Obviously it didn't end up this way but had if it did, you'd have a completely stacked region, the lower teams of individual seed lines getting bumped.

Preseason top 10:
1) Kentucky
2) MSU
3) Louisville
4) Duke
5) Kansas
6) Zona
7) Michigan
8) Okie State
8) Cuse
10) Florida
11) Ohio State

There's only 1 team from the West, consequently all the lowest teams of each seed line would've got shipped there. You have 5 teams within a 4 hour drive of each other at the furthest point in the top 11, nearly half. MSU, UM, OSU, UK, and Louisville, that would inherently make the Memphis and Indianapolis regions stacked if those rankings held at the end of the year. Obviously you just plug and chug now in hindsight with other teams emerging up top, but that's the catalyst behind it.

Yep, I would still think you ship some better teams west, but this is always the problem.

Nothing wrong with being in the 1st round game if that is what it comes down to but I would rather start out in the second round.
