we are exactly where we should be 5-2

To get to 7 wins after bottoming out +6 would be outstanding-any Coach would tell you that-sorry some of you don't understand how hard it is to build a total rebuild. Ron Meyer with great recruiting was 4-6-1 in Year 3 (+1/2) since SMU was 4-7 in year before he got there

But in his 3rd year he did it against a SWC schedule plus Ohio State, Penn State, and Florida as opposed to Arkansas State, Stephen F. and UNT.

Football recap show on ESPNews just did a highlight story on Trey Quinn being the first player in 20 years to catch 15 passes in 3 straight games.

Apples and oranges. We were able to recruit against our competition. We are not on the playing field with the P5 schools in recruiting.

Those were and are today elite programs.

Ark St, SFA and UNT never have been and probably never will be considered 'elite' versus their peers.

I think that the American is a higher level conference than our out of conference opponents this year. The Gators Buckeyes and Nittanys were certainly higher level than we were at the time. ooo

We had the best record in college football during that period.
