For the PAC, revenue from athletics is "small potatoes". They do need to extend their current media contract 1 more year though.

Everything is negotiable so long as the 4 Corners are satisfied with their media payouts. SMU might have finished as high as 7th place in last year's PAC 12. Perhaps as high as 5th place in the absence of USC and UCLA. We are already competitive with the middle of the conference.
Even for the 4 Corners schools, athletic dollars are far less important than research dollars. The Big 12, without their flagships, cannot compete with Washington, Oregon, Cal and Stanford. For SMU finishing 5th to 7th in football is unacceptable.

I apologize but I don't get what you mean. Research grants may be more than sports revenue. But so what? If there is a large enough sports media dollars disparity between the PAC and another conference, due diligence would require serious consideration if an invite came from the moneybag conference. And no one said that 5-7 place is ideal. Nevertheless it is unrealistic to believe that had SMU played in the PAC last year that we would have finished in the top 4.

Reported by whom? You?
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
Don't feed the Coog. I learned my lesson with Froggie Fever. Calling them out for their attention seeking passive-agression just encourages them. It is difficult for a well adjusted person to understand the psychopathy of the troll but acknowledging them either postively or negatively is just asking for more of their behaviors.
Can't really blame Coog and Froggie as they have their teams in P5. I'm not sure I wouldn't be passive-aggressive like them if we were there. Poor us and Rice, still waiting. However, I don't wish to hear from them on this board and if we are invited to the party, I resolve not to go on Rice's Forum.
