OK, folks, I was in Richardson the other day and stopped by Skoots, which was mentioned here .... wow. OK, let's not make this anything more than it is: you're paying for the scenery. And it's money well spent. The burger, to be honest, is mediocre. Not poison-bad, but not good. They make the burgers in the SMU cafeteria seem gourmet-quality. But the staff in the place .... good gawd. It's Hooter's, but cranked up a notch, and serving burgers instead of wings (maybe they have wings, too - who knows. We weren't paying much attention to the menu). Fries are average. And it still was the best $10 I spent in a long time.

The best thing to eat in there for the money is the salad, it's decent. Anyone know if they still do bikini top tuesdays?

Is that the place in the Keystone parking lot? If so I ate there once and I don't know what you are talking about. The food was basically the stuff you buy in the frozen food section at Kroger. There was also only one waitress working since it was late at night. Maybe you have to go at a reasonable hour.

Bikini tops at lunch, Monday through Friday.
And you're you're paying for the view. The burgers evoke images of ground rat.

The burgers are truly crap. In addition to the salad, the banana pudding is supposedly decent, although I never tried it. It's just not worth going to more than once a month unless you are truly desperate to see women.

Are the burgers there worse than the ones at Hooters? (Until recently, I didn't even know Hooters had burgers -- thought that place was wings & beer only.) Or the bottom places on the Burger Boys' rankings?

Hooters is better. Skoots has some good ideas for burgers, but the food is just low quality and prepaired poorly. It wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so overpriced. But it always seems to get good lunch business thanks to being across from the TI complex.

What kind of scenery are we talking here? Hooters-esque? Bikinis?

huntnfish: Skoots is located on the southwest corner of Central and Spring Valley - behind BoneDaddy's BBQ (another joint with good food and high-grade scenery!) Enjoy....

These same people complain that my posts are not about sports. Echoing President Reagan to the USSR, "Moderators tear down this thread!"

This is probably the greatest thread ever started on this board. Thank you Roger Healey!!

Did Rogers Healy start this thing? My computer has Pony4Life as the first poster in this thread.
And you're right, it's great stuff. Started for the fans of other schools, but it's been a cool analysis of the "dining scene" around town....

My mistake - I thought Roger had started it.

Sir Trolls brings up an interesting point. As some of you might remember, I dropped my regular moniker and 'went underground' for a couple of games. I've felt persecuted on ponyfans.com before. There truly is a heirarchy on this board and it's those powers that be that say while it's ok to talk about hamburgers for 30 pages on a football board, it's not ok to bring up other issues that affect our university. While I don't agree with everything he says, Sir Trolls has been a breath of fresh air on this board and it's obvious the effect he has had because so many regular posters have obviously been pushed from their comfort zones.

Keep up the good work Sir Trolls, but let's keep our eye on the prize: A SUCCESSFUL SMU FOOTBALL TEAM!!!

BEAT FRESNO!
