I don't think so. I said I'd give them an extra year of eligibility. I don't want to penalize them for a national tragedy. But does it make sense to say the school exists in football name only; all the students go home, but you football players have to go eight hours away and practice and go to meetings.

Well, the NCAA disagrees with Dooby. It is now official that students can enroll at SMU and play for Tulane. Though I doubt any will. Tulane expects to decide what to do in the next 72 hours. My gut says they'll play. I hope they play. Since it looks like their old stadium (not the superdome) may be a total loss, they might get government money to rebuild it, which would be abright spot for Tulane football.
And the Tulane students were invited to the SMU-Baylor game. I just hope they root for the team that invited them.
