For all you Cuban bashers, Dave Barry weighs in on your side. Actually, pretty funny typical-Barry stuff:

Mavs in five.
If Van Horn (providing his services for the bargain price of $16 million per) plays significant minutes, Heat in six.

I think somebody thought Van Horn was going to be the next Dirk when they drafted him. Or the first Dirk. What i dont get is why anyone would give him a huge contract on his second contract after mediocre first couple years in the league. Van horn does not use his body well or have good handles.
I thought LA Mustang would have a little more reverence for Shaq from his Showtime II days though. The Mavs should win but overconfidence reigns in Dallas. Sure hope Shaq doesn't slap us down.

We need a prediction post on whether this is the last series we will ever have to put up with Van Horn. I think he gets a one way bus ticket after this series.

Van Horn does two things well: shoot bricks and give up uncontested lay-ups/dunks.
HF- As for The Daddy, I think age and injuries have slowed him down enough to keep him from completely dominating a series. I like the Mavs depth and athleticism.

Nothing makes me giggle more than seeing the ball in Antoine Walker's hands when his team is down by three points. You can just see "Watch me be the hero that ties this baby up!" flash across his bald pumpkin head as he takes an ill-advised three pointer. There is no way that ball is going anywhere near a teammate. There is no way that ball is going anywhere other than towards the basket. Unfortunately for the Heat, there is also no way that ball is going in.
Spaaaaaaaaaaaaare.

...and that's what 16M gets you. Think he feels guilty? He should. He should do the respectable thing and send a few to help with the new bball facility at SMU.

Who should? Cuban, for agreeing to that deal, or Van Horn, for accepting it?
Van Horn twice beat us with buzzer-beaters. I'd love to have his money, but I think we might sooner get a humble apology from The Leech for his run-it-up attempt two years ago.
Of course, when we shock the Red Raiders this fall, I don't care if he apologizes or not.

Even if the Mavericks manage to win this series they are LOSERS in my books.
That Game 3 melt-down was Mickelson-worthy...they do not deserve to be Champs.
The Cowboy Championship teams, the Stars Championship team...they had heart...this team does not.
