anyone who still thinks of Texas as a rival of ours has slept thru the past 20 years.

TCU is the ONLY good rival we have these days. Over time, perhaps we can develop a rivalry with someone else in CUSA.

The simple truth is that UNT has more potential than most any other school I can think of to become a secondary rival for SMU. Why do they hate us? Don't have to look too far past that all-time series record which I believe is something like 27-3 in SMU's favor...and the fact they didn't get to play us a few years back when they probably would have whipped us.

Stallion makes THE point on this one...simple economics dictate SMU should be scheduling TCU, UNT & Baylor as often as we can...in both football and bball as far as I'm concerned. These are cheap travel dates and will stir local interest. Fouts will likely be rocking when SMU rolls into Denton.

Maybe SMU can start a rivalry with Baylor in BBall, since it seems TCU wont be any threat for quite a while. I still would like to see Baylor/SMU play in football every year.

...unless SMU is winning, or has been winning, I seriously doubt Fouts will be rockin' with SMU fans anytime soon.

no, Fouts will be rocking with UNT fans...that schools will care more about SMU visiting than anyone else on our road schedule. I think I will make the trip to Greenville for the ECU game. Me and about 50 SMU fans, I expect. I have a co-worker (Pirate) who is talking about attending so I will have to hit the ECU tailgating scene and tell them about SMU...the only thing most of them know about SMU is that we were on of Skip Holtz's 2 wins last year.

SMU better be ready to play in Denton, those guys are foaming at the mouth! The way the NTS folks talk, this is one of the biggest games in their programs history!

Rest assure if they beat us, he'll be over here in less than an hour after the game.

Mustangs35, be careful driving to the game...you might get overrun by all the super Jamario fans coming from Spring Hill.

The SMU obsession is in full swing on the NTS site. Some of their fans claim, they would rather beat SMU than UT!

Fouts will be Rocking

This game is beyond huge for UNT. The last time SMU played in Denton I think it was sold out! one of the reasons that the attendance will be high for both teams is this game is so early in the season, #2 for both teams I believe. Both teams will still be optimistic this early.

Anyway, don't miss this game I promise you it will be a great atmosphere. A lot of us Mean Greeners have strong SMU ties. My wife and several close family members attended SMU. We have a lot of respect for SMU even though we still bleed green.

May the best team win!

As evidenced by all the warm fuzzy posts on that NTSU website. Please. I appreciate your close ties to SMU but you can tell all your NTS buddies over there that "class" isn't all about money and standing and that they have none...even if y'all do win the game.

Not after the hosing you will be getting from Texas.
