I don't know — I've never met Beasley, and I haven't talked to him yet, so I don't know how tall he is. But I did talk yesterday with one of the guys who ran the combine I referenced above, and he said he measured Beasley personally, watched his 40, shuttle, bench, etc. Maybe his tape measure was off. Maybe not. Take it for what it's worth. Either way, we have at least a vague idea how big the guy is. We also know he's fast as hell, can jump a mile high and seems to have some serious athletic ability.

when SMU's tape is ALWAYS about 1 inch better than other verified measurements-what does that tell you. And when they leave SMU transfer to another school or enter the NFL Draft-they shrink again. Probably SMU is rounding up.

...or perhaps the gravitational pull at SMU is less than it is everywhere else in the world, this would allow the spine to extend without so much gravity pulling down on the body...certainly explains a lot of the females on campus...

Sure, that's possible. Except for the fact that the guy I talked to doesn't work for SMU, and it wasn't an SMU-sponsored combine. The combine was put together by the folks at texashsfootball.com, and the guy I talked to said he is a Texas Tech grad … which kind of dents the "SMU stretching bias" idea.

well I don't take that new Texas Football Service-wish somebody did because I'd like to hear if its worth the money. I hadn't previously heard that Texas Football had combines but its possible since it is done by Randy Rodgers former UT recruiting Coordinator. I invite as much verified info as possible. but for 30 years Texas Football has been way way off on measurements because they haven't been verified. They were merely reported.

Sure, you complain. If I do it, I am the devil.

Stallion wrote:he was weighed and measured at two different camps this summer at 5-9, 154 or 155 so I would think that is pretty accurate. The kid does seem like a pretty good athlete in 3 sports. Hopefully, he'll be able to overcome the sterotype but he is not considered a top prospect as far as I can tell but what else is new.

Typical Stallion goes by what he has read and found on the internet.. As usual he judges based on other peoples opinions, not what he has seen in person.. Since we are 4 pages deep, I will remind yall that I was at the Sr day and at the smu camp and Cole (yes I am refering to him on first name basis) was in my group..
So please please listen to me.. he is extremely explosive and a great athlete and pickup..

I will say this, I was asked the other day if I had just one ride to give would I give it to Fuller or Beasely and I would have to choose Fuller because he is a sensational athlete, and is a legitimate 6-4 and can move, jump and catch.. But I would be kicking myself that I let Beasely go..

Let me fill yall in on some info, Jesse Henderson was discovered at the SMU camp when he ran his 40, before then the coaches had no interest in him.. why, oh yah he was 5-8 maybe 160 soaking wet, but I think we are all pretty happy with him now..

We must be in the final "moon" before football starts again! How can I tell? The only thing we seem to be doing is beating one another up!

Just out of curiosity, did you actually witness Beasley being measured at taller than 5-9, or heavier than 155? Because those are the only hard numbers that Stallion gave in his post that you're ripping. I mean, does his information off the internet contradict your actual eyewitness account?

You seem like you want to contradict him, but you both draw the same conclusions: He's undersized but athletic. Is it a matter of degree? You're getting your hair up because you think he's a "great" athlete while Stallion thinks he's a "pretty good" athlete?

Bottom line on this guy and everybody else we recruit is this: Until these guys make a contribution towards putting a winning product on the field, they're all just another player on a team that hasn't done squat in twenty years.

Yoiu guys go back to bashing each other over who's not tall enough, but keep this in mind as you do.

This is why I started the Booger Wars thread on the General site. Take the personal arguments there. Over here the threads exist so they can be hijacked by people like me.
