Yes we are, and we need to capitalize on this fact as well, not wait until the end of the season and get caught up with all the other coaching changes then. Make the decision/announcement soon, and ride that wave of hope/enthusiasm while the other schools are deciding to cut bait or fish.

"La guillotine will claim it's bloody prize"
We are the first, and I think mob boss Steve Orsini made a statement, firing a coach with 4 games left in the season.

No question about that. Orsini wants to get out early and get his guy.

Spend a couple hours away doing work... and blam... miss the early scoop on the big news....
Let the speculation begin.
And I do want to say that I have nothing but positive thoughts for Bennett the man. I hope he lands on his feet and I wish him the best.
It may not have been pretty or what we wanted, but I thank him for his service.

SMU COACHES SINCE 1987
Forrest Gregg (1989-90): 3-19;.136
Tom Rossley (1991-96): 15-48-3;.250
Mike Cavan (1997-2001): 18-28;.391
Phil Bennett (2002-2007): 18-48;.273
She got Cavan's W-L record wrong...he was 22-34 over 5 years with a victory over Northridge State.

does the record you report include the games we were required to forfeit in 1998 for using an ineligible player?

Bum Phillips said that coaches are hired to be fired. Some win, others lose. Next.
