All this jibber-jabber about the library.
Doesn't mean dittily squat vis-a-vis the football program.

You make whatever analogy you want out of this, but I gotta steal a line from a former Nebraska coach (whose name escapes me at the moment) who said the following (and it applies to the faculty and their athletic problems), " It is hard for alumni and students to rally around a math class."

Please.

Forest-Trees...SMU Football Program-Presidential Library.

Amen, OC, for trying to straighten this thread out. Enough already about the library. The impact of such a thing on SMU football is inconsequential at best. Although it was fair for ONE person to point out that it COULD have SOME modicum of an impact.

Bottom line at this point for the program is that we are in the dumps with regard to performance. That can affect a lot of things, including expectations for the very near-term. What it should NOT affect is the school's ability to have a vision of SMU developing a very strong football program and maintaining it. SMU has too much going for it to not enjoy a far more successful football program (including, as someone also correctly pointed out, good facilities). I also think we've got a core group of solid student-athletes for someone to build around.

I'm sure they were integral to his getting a "gegree."
